Create It Yourself Feature Summer Crafts cover image with illustrated suns and flowers background

Celebrate the season with our selection of four summer crafts in this month’s Create It Yourself Feature. From a project that needs sunlight to work, to the perfect bag to take to all your summer get-togethers. And, as always, each kit is from a creative woman with a small business here in the UK.

A6 Cyanotype kit by The Wild Darkroom

Cyanotype is an incredible photographic process that uses natural daylight to create prints. Paper is coated in a special chemical solution which reacts with UV light (i.e. the sun!) and, by placing objects on the paper before it reacts, you end up with gorgeous pieces of art. Natural items such as flowers, leaves, and twigs work really well.

In this kit by Karen from The Wild Darkroom (Instagram: @thewilddarkroom) you get everything you need to start creating your own A6 cyanotype prints… well, except for the objects you want to use and, of course, the sun.
