12 Birth Flower Embroidery Templates – PDF Download

Whether you want to create personal and handstitched gifts for your loved ones’ birthdays or simply enjoy some seasonal creativity for yourself, our 12 birth flower embroidery templates give you the perfect project whatever month of the year.

For a calm and joyful creative activity – simply print out your chosen birth flower template, trace it into your fabric, and stitch away to your heart’s content. You can use any stitch or combination of stitches to complete your chosen design. Our favourite is a basic backstitch using four strands of embroidery floss to create a simple outline of each flower… but the choice is entirely yours.

With 12 birth flower embroidery templates, one for each month of the year, you could maybe make gorgeous hoops or tote bags as gifts for friends and loved ones, or some creative, seasonal wall art for your own home.

The 12 birth flower embroidery templates included are: January Snowdrop, February Violet, March Daffodil, April Sweet Pea, May Lily of the Valley, June Rose, July Delphinium, August Gladiolus, September Aster, October Cosmos, November Chrysanthemum, December Paperwhite Narcissus. You can see example embroidery suggestions of February and November in the product image gallery.

This is a PDF digital download (you will not be sent any physical product). Once purchased, you will receive a link to instantly access and save/download your PDF, ready to print yourself.

Please note: this download includes 12 template designs only (i.e. the flower outlines for you to trace). It does not include any instructions, stitch guides, or thread suggestions. The designs are suitable for beginners in their simplicity but, as no tutorial or guide is provided, you will need to already know a basic stitch such as backstitch.

The templates are designed to be printed on A4 portrait paper and framed in 6″ hoops. However, because each design goes off the edge of the hoop, it can be easier to stitch the design using a larger hoop and then use a 6″ hoop to frame/display the finished piece. Alternatively, you can move a 6″ hoop around the design to more easily stitch it before centring when finished.

To transfer the design onto your fabric: print out your chosen template, place it behind your embroidery fabric, then use a bright light (e.g. a light box/pad, tablet screen, or bright window) to see the design through the fabric. Trace over the template using a suitable pen (heat erasable pens work well and the drawing can then be removed with a hairdryer or iron after stitching).
