Welcome to an online space all about celebrating, supporting, and encouraging creative women in the UK – For Creatives’ Sake

Born from a passion for creativity, a love of small creative businesses, and knowing the power in communities of women… For Creatives’ Sake (FCS for short) was created to celebrate, support, and encourage all creative women in the UK. So, whether you enjoy a creative hobby, use your creativity for a side-hustle, or work full-time in your creative small business – welcome, this space is for you.

Being a creative woman is amazing (we bring so much joy, light, and colour, to life), but it’s not always easy. With never ending to-do lists, responsibilities and commitments, and a roller-coaster of challenges to deal with, it can feel like there’s no time to be creative, let alone enjoy the process. Not to mention the inequalities and different expectations for women in our society.

Being creative and being ‘sensitive’ quite often go together (hands up any introverts or empaths!). For so many women, their creativity is an important part of looking after their mental health and wellbeing.

That’s why, being creative for creative’s sake (i.e. for the simple joy of creating) is important, but even more important than that is being creative for creatives’ sake (for the wellbeing of creatives).

The movement

FCS is so much more than just a business or brand… it’s a movement.

A movement is a group of people, with a shared idea or goal, who join together to create change and make a difference.

How amazing is that? As a community of creative women, we can come together with the shared idea of celebrating, supporting, and encouraging creative women in the UK – to hopefully empower and inspire more women to keep being their wonderful creative selves (or perhaps to even try being creative for the first time), and to help spread the word that creativity can do wonders for your wellbeing.

You don’t have to do anything to be part of the ‘club’ (just be you!), but, whether you identify as a creative woman in the UK or simply support the values of FCS, you can help spread the movement by sharing our message and content on social media, and joining in the conversation. We welcome kind interaction from everyone.

What to expect

For now, you can find inspiring stories, wellbeing insight, and creative motivation, on the blog. From Friday Features (interviews with wonderful women who run their own creative small businesses in the UK) to Monthly Motivation for getting creative at home.

Then, in time, there will be more ways to celebrate, support, and encourage you – so watch this space.

We really hope you enjoy and embrace this space as your own and that, as the community grows, you feel part of something truly special.

P.S.

If you haven’t already found us over on Instagram – why not come say hi and give us a follow. We would love for you to join the conversation.
