The FCS blog is taking a little break and will be back in May. Why? Because, as many of our Friday Features have shared, running a creative small business is a rollercoaster at times. Balancing work and life takes on a whole new dimension when you are your own boss. Sure, there is the incredible positive that you get to call all of the shots and everything is up to you… but that’s also one of the biggest cons… there is no one else to pick up the slack, and everything is up to you! And there comes a point when you can love what you do and still need a break.
Whether it’s health difficulties, childcare issues, caring responsibilities, or any number of challenges life throws your way – trying to keep a business going whilst navigating life can be really hard at times. It doesn’t matter how passionate you are about your business or how much you love what you do, sometimes you just need to step back, catch your breath, and take a break.
So, that’s what I’m doing.
And please let this be your little reminder to look after yourself too. If you’ve been pushing through things, keeping going, and not ‘giving up’ or ‘giving in’, despite things being hard… be kind to yourself. It’s not failing or weak to press pause and come up for air. You can absolutely love what you do and still need a break.
Our shop will remain open and I’ll still be posting out your orders, but there won’t be any new blog or social media content for a while.
Keep being creative – for creatives’ sake! And we’ll (hopefully) be back in May.
